  • Tomintoul site chosen for 'Scottish Scenic Routes'

    The third group of structures / installations to be built as part of the Scottish Scenic Routes’ initiative has been launched, and included in the three distinct sites is one near Tomintoul, within the Cairngorms National Park, on land managed by The Crown Estate.

    The competition is open to young architects and landscape architects within five years of having completed RIBA Part II or the achievement of Graduate landscape Architect status.

  • Get active at Victoria Retail Park, Nottingham

    The Thrive Summer Series comes to Victoria Retail Park, 11 am – 4 pm, Saturday 22 August.

    There will be fun activities for all, including an ‘Activate Area’ where local groups are invited to show off their fitness activity before inviting the crowds to give it a go. The Thrive Cycle Challenge will provide a chance to pedal your way to prizes on a static bike. National cycling charity CTC will be sharing ideas on all you need to start cycling plus offering you the option to sign up for a free Bikeability course.

  • First electric vehicle charging points introduced at Crowngate

    The first EV charging points have been installed at Crowngate Shopping Centre in Worcester.

    Working with Worcestershire County Council and co-funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles and Chargemaster, two charging points have installed in the car park at Crowngate.

    Asset manager Matthew Baddeley welcomed the arrangement, "Electric cars are becoming more and more prevalent as an option for eco-conscious motorists, offering one way to help individuals tackle the environmental challenges of the 21st century,” he said. “We’re pleased to be working with the county council on this scheme which will provide a welcome boost for sustainable transport in Worcester and help to reduce the environmental impacts of journeys to and from the city centre.”

    There are plans to install further points at more retail parks across our Regional portfolio.

  • Glenlivet Estate seeks cycling footage for digital project

    BikeGlenlivet on the Glenlivet Estate is looking for cycling footage to use in short films about the trails, and they can even provide the cameras!

    Three new films about the trails have just been released, showcasing the BikeGlenlivet centre, the Red Trail and the Blue Trail. Produced as part of the Highland & Islands Enterprise Digital Tourism Project, the films are being used to help market the bike trails throughout the UK.

  • Portland little tern study reveals epic journeys

    Conservationists studying little terns nesting on The Crown Estate's Chesil Beach have discovered that during their migrations two of the nesting residents have notched up over 100,000 km each.

    Gary Thompson, Coastal Manager, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support the little tern project since its inception and today’s fantastic news of its continued success demonstrates what can be achieved through dedication and working in partnership.”

    The Chesil Beach Little Tern Project is a partnership between RSPB, Natural England, Crown Estate, Portland Court Leet, Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Chesil and Fleet Nature Reserve.
