Lasting and shared prosperity for the nation

Who we are

Across communities, countryside, coast and seabed, we own and manage land for the benefit of the nation.

We are an independent business sitting between the public and private sectors, acting in the national interest both today, and for future generations.

  • £4.1 billion

We return all our net profit to the Treasury, generating £4.1 billion for the nation's finances over the last decade

  • 11 million homes

Our cumulative offshore wind capacity of 11.8GW provides enough clean energy to power around 11 million homes

  • £10 million

We have committed £10 million for the planting of 1,000 acres of new woodland and 200 miles of hedgerows

Our portfolio

Our £16 billion portfolio includes rural land, the seabed and urban centres.

This includes one of the largest rural holdings in the country, an estate across Regent Street and St James’s in London, and the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
