The Crown Estate announces Helen Price as new Chief Financial Officer
The Crown Estate has announced today that Helen Price will be taking up the position of Chief Financial Officer from 1 January 2025.
The Crown Estate is an independent commercial business set up to act in the long-term national interest. Its diverse £16 billion portfolio includes land, property and seabed across the country. It is focussed on supporting the UK’s transition to a decarbonised, energy secure future, nature recovery, inclusive communities and economic growth and generating a strong financial return to the nation’s finances. This has totalled over £4 billion in the last ten years.
Helen is currently CFO of Infrared Capital Partners Ltd, the international infrastructure asset manager. She is also the CFO of HICL Infrastructure PLC, the LSE-listed core infrastructure investment company managed by InfraRed. Before joining InfraRed in 2021, Helen was the CFO of EFG Private Bank, where she was an Executive Director, Chair of the Asset and Liability Committee, and a member of the Management Committee and Credit Committee. Prior to this, Helen was Group Financial Controller at 3i Group, where her responsibilities included valuations, and held several roles at Close Brothers Group.
Dan Labbad, Chief Executive Officer of The Crown Estate, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Helen to The Crown Estate team. Helen brings a diverse range of financial experience from across FTSE listed businesses. Her expertise across the alternative asset sector, alongside a deep commitment to sustainability, will be invaluable as we seek to have an even greater impact across our diverse portfolio and generate strong financial returns for the nation, including through new legislation to modernise our investment powers. I also want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Robert Allen for his commitment and for everything that he has achieved to support The Crown Estate over the last few years as we have progressed our ambitious strategy to deliver in the long-term national interest.”
Helen Price said: “I am excited to be joining The Crown Estate team. I am passionate about sustainability and the role of business as a force for good. I am looking forward to the opportunity to further leverage its financial strategies and commercial discipline to both achieve strong financial returns and drive meaningful change to create a lasting positive impact for future generations.”
Robert Allen, the current Chief Financial Officer, is leaving The Crown Estate to find a new challenge, and will step down at the end of this year to support a smooth transition. Robert joined the business in 2021, since which time The Crown Estate has made significant progress against its strategy, including posting record profits for the nation.
