OSW Evidence and Change Programme
Steering Group
The Crown Estate aims to make the most of its position working with both the public and private sectors to bring partners together and build strong collaborative relationships to develop progressive and innovative solutions to solve our shared challenges.
Recognising that no one actor holds all the answers individually, working together openly and in partnership is crucial for tackling the shared challenge of enabling the transition to net zero greenhouse gas emissions and the recovery of our precious marine ecosystems.
In 2025, the OWEC Programme revised the Programme Steering Group to reflect outcomes of a mid-term evaluation. There are now two groups:
A Technical Steering Group that meets 3 times a year, focused on ensuring that project intended impacts are relevant and that the actions needed to deliver these impacts are achievable.
A Programme Steering Group that meets twice a year, focused on deciding how to embed change arising from the OWEC projects across organisations and deciding actions to take when/if impact delivery actions can’t be taken.
This revised steering group structure brings together environmental NGOs, industry bodies, governments from all four nations and their advisers, to ensure data and evidence can positively impact the whole of the UK.
